Dr Andrew Bettington is a histopathologist and Pathologist-in-Charge of Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology's Lismore laboratory. He graduated from The University of Queensland Medical School in 2005 before going on to train in anatomical pathology at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane, where he developed an interest in gastrointestinal pathology. He gained Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia Fellowship in 2012 and moved to Lismore in the same year. He worked at the Lismore Base Hospital before joining Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology's Lismore Laboratory in 2013. He has authored and contributed to multiple journal articles, predominantly within the field of gastrointestinal pathology.

Dr Bettington is strongly committed to the delivery of high quality regional pathology services as well as taking an active role in the local community. As the only private pathology laboratory in Lismore, Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology has a pivotal position in local healthcare. The Lismore laboratory team is closely involved in the community it serves through charity support and fund raising initiatives.
