Special interests: Urology, breast, gynaecological, and skin pathology

Dr Jian Zhong is a histopathologist based at Sullivan Nicolades Pathology's Tugun laboratory.  She reports across a broad range of general surgical pathology and has particular interests in urological, gynaecological, dermatological and breast malignancies. She performs frozen sections, working alongside surgical teams at the John Flynn Hospital and she supervises and performs those procedures requiring a pathologist in the radiology department and the medical centre's collection rooms.

Dr Zhong is actively involved in urological, breast and gynaecological multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs) and enjoys collaborating with colleagues from other specialities. She believes that this is essential in providing high standards of service. She appreciates working within the hospital environment and gains satisfaction in being part of a team of people bringing together their respective skills for the care and management of the patient.

A graduate of Nanjing Medical University, China, she undertook resident training in cardiology at Nanjing Thoracic Hospital. She moved to Australia in 1994, gained her AMC certificate and subsequently trained in anatomical pathology at St Vincent's, Royal North Shore, Royal Prince Alfred and Prince of Wales hospitals, Sydney.  She was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in 2014.  She then worked with Pathology North, NSW, for two and a half years. Dr Zhong joined Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology in 2017.
